What is an EPP code ? Print

  • 2

An EPP code is a code which has been implemented for certain domain names, to protect them from unauthorised transfer.  It is a secret key which is unique to each domain, and must be provided in order for a transfer of an existing registered domain from one registrar to another.  A registrar holding a domain record for you is *required* to provide you with this EPP code upon request, or as part of your customer domain record.

EPP codes may also be referred to as "Domain Secret", "Transfer Authorisation", "Auth Code".

An EPP code may be required for you to transfer a domain to us if it has the following suffix :

.com
.net
.org
.info
.us
.tv
.me
.biz
.name
.co
.cc

If you are transferring a domain away from us and are unable to see the EPP code in your customer area, please log a ticket with the support team who will be able to assist you.
